What is Freesat?
A new way to get free digital satellite TV for a simple one off payment of £150 (if you do not have a Sky installation), or £20 for a viewing card.
Sky's new freesat offering gives access to ITV1, ITV2, Channel Four and five, there are many other channels you will be able to see including all the BBC TV channels, ITV3, CNN, ITV News channel and many more. All these channels are Free To air and do not require either a Sky card or a Sky Digital receiver. The Sky card gives you access to only four encrypted channels.

How much does it cost?
For £150, you can get a Sky installation, Sky Digital receiver, minidish, initial viewing card. Your receiver does NOT have to be connected to a landline, though you may wish to, to enjoy the many interactive features available.

How to I get Sky's Freesat?
You can purchase Sky's freesat offer directly from Sky by calling 0870 606 1111, or at most electrical retailers including Comet, John Lewis, Hughes, Bennets, and independent electrical and satellite specialists.

Do I have to subscribe to to get freesat from Sky?
No you don’t. With a payment of just £150 you’ll receive all the equipment you need to receive free digital satellite TV – a Sky box, a minidish, a remote control and an initial viewing card. Standard installation of your equipment is also included.

I already have digital satelite equipment - what else do I need?
All you need to get access to the free channels available on the digital satellite platform (ITV1, Channel Four & Five), is a freesat viewing card which costs just £20.

What is the difference between Freeview and Sky's freesat offer?
With Sky’s freesat offering, you receive the digital signal via a satellite dish. With Freeview, the digital signal is received via an aerial. Freeview currently has coverage in around 75% of the country compared with Sky’s coverage of 98%.* Freesat from Sky also has over five times the number of channels available on Freeview and you can upgrade to Sky digital at any time without the need for new digital satellite equipment or installation.
